ship classes
the “rocket stages”
- conventional rockets with or without landing abilities before 2000
- reusable space planes/orbiters past 2050
- reusable ITT-drive launchers 2029 onwards
The very early settler “ships” to Moon and Mars
- like Ares Dynamics “Mars-Skyships”
- or Blue’s, Nasa’s, Chinas’, Jade Horizon Energy’s, StellarLinks’ custom individually builds of small interplanetary ships
- 10 to 100 people crew/settlers till 2050-2080
- Some of them with and others without ITT- and/or Plasma-drives
- with around 2080-2100 this changes to a consolidated advanced state:
planetary “ships”
are not capable to do interplanetary travels for any solar-plane since 2400+, but specifically for the Sun-Solar-Plane 2100-3024++ in the year the Sun-Solar-Plane has around 75,000 ships, this means more than 4 million people are on the move within Sun-Solar-Plane.
- orbiters: those are small ships with landing capabilities, they are used to transport cargo and people from the surface of a planet/moon to a station or between stations and back. They are usually small and have a limited range.
- tugboats/pods: small powerful ships often used to tow or push larger ships. They are usually equipped with a powerful engine which a mostly faster than the ship they are towing. they also do capture ships in distress and bring them to safety.
- personal- and repair-pods: used around a station or in between nearby stations to transport personal or fulfil repair-jobs in space or at the station. Sometimes used to offload/onboard crews or small amount freights from ships.
- live-boats/pods: a kind of large rescue capsule with long lasting live-support
interplanetary ships
cannot go FTL
- messengers: small quick personal ships, less than 10-20 persons crew, very low freight capacity if at all also used for exploration in the early days (2100-2300) of 0.01c+ flights
- probes: unmanned, send to the outer limits and even to other planets equipped with a lot of sensors and
backward communications to the solar-plane pawing the path for future interstellar colonization - freight-ships: small crew of 10-20 people and between 50-250 “passengers”, mostly family ships, where the passengers pay their transfer by work, the amount of freight though isn’t small, some are specialized in rare or precious goods, like biotics etc.
- colony-trade-ships: they can held between 500-1000 passengers/settler and large amounts of freights.
some of the larger ships had been used to be the first instalment of a station. In that case there were modular, a pattern that repeats, is more commonly used with interstellar flights - sub-FTL-colony-ships: there are only 3 ships: Amara Homework, Varna Homestead, Elara Homeland all build on Nova Arcis and left Oort Cloud Main-Station before the introduction of FTL
interstellar ships
usually past 2700 4-5c up to 7c, in rare cases beyond -> hyperspace 7-13c with high decomposition risks
- family-ships 50-100 passengers - often involved in exploration of star-systems and early colonization do also transport compared to their size large amounts of freights and precious goods like “news”
- trade-ships 100-3000 passengers and or freights
- colony-ships 1000-5000 passengers - modular build, they may change their role by converting to stations and FTL-trade-ships or sub-FTL ships to explore the solar-planes
- special-class-ships: unofficial vessels of the High Courts Of The Academies, Scots Yards or in the case of the “Lost Colony/ies” Colony-Ship with 10c speed or more.
x-ships
experimental ships, usually small and powerful as they can be (exemplary named: Stellar Explorer(2080, 0.01c ), Horizon Voyager(2290-2299, 0.1c), Horizon Vanguard(2301-2305, 0.3c), 0.5c test flight (2341, CHV for Jade Horizon Energy) Cinetic Velocity, Lightbridge Prototype(2362-2370, 0.99c), Chop Hop Vanguard(2389-2398, 1.03c+), some X-ships of the Rush Fleet(Kuiper Belt Massacre, speeds not known), Time Shifter(post story event!: 3025, 100c+) - but also others unmentioned x-ships)
the company CHV is named after it’s founders K.E.Clondi, H.Hwangson & J.Verne
